Online Book Club Reads “The Engineer's Wife”
Join us this spring as we read The Engineer’s Wife from March 18 to May 20, 2022. The Engineer's Wife by Tracey Enerson Wood is the ninth book of our online Book Club for Adults.

International Women’s Day originated in the labor and socialist movements of the early 1900s when women were demanding better pay, safer working conditions, and the right to vote.
New program provides rental subsidies and employment assistance
City of Glendale introduces a new program called LIFERAP Program- Low Income Family Employment and Rental Assistance Program in partnership with Verdugo Workforce Development Board and Glendale Youth Alliance! The purpose of the program is to provide rental subsidies and employment assistance to low income, working families for a 12-month period to improve their quality of life.

Brand Library & Art Center welcomes Let Me Talk
Glendale Library, Arts & Culture presents Let Me Talk, a provocative exhibition featuring paintings, sculptures, installation, and photography by a diverse group of 24 artists. This exhibit, curated by Ada Pullini Brown and Jill Sykes, will be at the Brand Library & Art Center from January 22, 2022 - March 19, 2022.
Tracing Glendale’s Past: The Snow Covered Palm Trees of 1949
Snow in Southern California is so uncommon that people tend to casually rattle off the years that we were blanketed in snow. 1918, 1922, 1939, 1954, 1974—Snow in L.A. County is treated like a novelty instead of the seasonal obtrusion it is farther east. And while the record snowfall belongs to 1932 (two inches!), one of the more picturesque snowfalls occurred on Monday, January 10th, 1949.
Staff Reviews: Bing Crosby Double Feature
As the holiday season comes to a close, it’d like to present a superb Christmas double featuring singer & actor Bing Crosby, both with music from composer Irving Berlin, and the song “White Christmas”: 1942’s Holiday Inn (co-starring Fred Astaire and Marjorie Reynolds) and 1954’s White Christmas with Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen.
