Online Book Club Reads “The Engineer's Wife”

The Engineer's Wife by Tracey Enerson Wood is the ninth book of our online Book Club for Adults.

Based on the true story of the Brooklyn Bridge, "The Engineer's Wife" delivers an emotional portrait of a woman transformed by a project of unfathomable scale, which takes her into the bowels of the East River, suffragette riots, the halls of Manhattan's elite, and the heady, freewheeling temptations of P.T. Barnum. It's the story of a husband and wife determined to build something that lasts-even at the risk of losing each other.

The Engineer’s Wife is available for checkout as an eBook through Freading and hoopla, and in hard copy.

Join us this spring as we read The Engineer’s Wife from March 18 to May 20, 2022.

With over 300 community members already signed up, the Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Online Book Club is ready to connect readers at a safe distance while we continue our quarantine.  Membership is free and eBooks are available for download for all library cardholders. By taking part in this online community, readers can connect with their fellow Glendalians through the enjoyment of reading and discussing great books. The book club members will read a new book every two to three months, which allows readers plenty of time to finish each book.

Upcoming book club titles will include topics related to lifelong learning, social issues, literature, psychology, as well as selections suggested by book club members. Sign up today!
