Expanded Contactless Pickup Service

In order to provide additional convenient locations to borrow library items, Glendale Library, Arts & Culture is excited to expand its Curbside Pickup service at the Central Library to also include Contactless Pickup at the Brand Library and Montrose Library. These services are freely available to all Glendale Library cardholders. The goal of this service is to offer safe access to our physical collections in a manner that follows the County of Los Angeles Health Orders regarding COVID-19. Whether you are in a vehicle or on foot, Contactless Pickup provides a straightforward and safe way to borrow library materials. Please make sure to indicate the correct location where you wish to pick up your library items when placing holds. Contactless Pickup Services are slightly different at Brand Library and Montrose Library.

  • Brand Library: Place a hold, and when you receive a notice that your hold is ready for pickup, you may schedule a pickup time online. Pickup service hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays from 12 pm–6 pm.

  • Montrose Library: Place a hold, and when you receive a notice that your hold is ready for pickup, you may drop by the Montrose Library at your convenience during designated pickup service hours. These hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 am–2 pm and 4 pm–7 pm.

Please note the following key steps to use the service:

  1. Place a hold through the online catalog or by calling the library at (818) 548-2021.

  2. Once you receive an email notice stating that your hold is ready for pickup, you may schedule an appointment through a link provided in the notification email or by calling (818) 548-2021. Please do not schedule an appointment until you receive an email indicating that your hold is ready for pickup. Montrose Library is the only current exception, and once you receive an email notice that the holds are ready, they may be picked up during designated service hours without an appointment.

For general questions about Contactless Pickup, please visit the FAQ that library staff have created. There are also location-specific sections for Brand Library and Montrose Library. For a detailed overview of our holiday schedule and service hours for Contactless Pickup, please see our Hours of Operation. We hope that the availability of these additional pickup locations will provide more convenient options that fit your needs and schedule.
