With-Draw Together Daily Drawing Challenge

Every October, Glendale Library, Arts & Culture encourages and celebrates the art of drawing.  Even though this year has been much different from previous ones, the Library is continuing that tradition in 2020 by presenting With-Draw Together, a month full of daily drawing challenges, thirty-one of them to be exact. Starting today, and all throughout the month of October, the Library will post a daily prompt on Brand Library’s Facebook page to challenge and inspire you. Prompts include challenges such as draw with words, make art using your fingerprints, draw with your non-dominant hand, and many more. Each prompt will  challenge the artist in different ways—sometimes with different media, sometimes with a skill you may be unfamiliar with (how small CAN I draw?), or a changed element (draw with crumpled paper!).

The Library encourages you to share your drawings with us on social media with the hashtag #withdrawtogether. To kick off the month-long event, the first one hundred curbside service reservations between October 1-3 will receive a complimentary gift bag with basic drawing supplies—while supplies last—to get you started. So go back to the drawing board and join the library community participating in  our  daily challenge by  experimenting with various art techniques and styles. We look forward to seeing what great artists—of every age—emerge from within.
