Job Loss Grief

 

Grief over losing a job is a natural reaction and many people experienced it during the pandemic. While we may think we should not grieve the loss of a job, the truth is it is a very natural emotion to experience. The grieving process in these cases is similar to that of losing a loved one. Joblessness is deeply shocking as it is a loss of income, financial security, identity, self-confidence, control over one’s life as well as the disruption of routine and friendships.
