Storytime to Go Kits contain all the contents needed to share a storytime at home with your baby, toddler or preschooler. Grownups will be able to follow a storytime layout complete with songs, bounces, fingerplays and more.

There are a variety of themes available including, but not limited to: Colors, Fall, Construction, Farms, Dinosaurs, Friends and Sharing, Transportation, Body and Movement, Winter and Snowmen, and Spring.

The kits feature favorite children’s authors such as Karen Katz, Anna Dewdney, Karma Wilson, Kevin Henkes, Eric Hill, Michael Dahl, and Lucy Cousins, just to name a few.

There are two types of kits available, Baby & Toddler and Toddler & Preschool, with books and activities tailored to each age range.

Each kit contains:

• Storytime booklet featuring a storytime layout and song lyrics

• Finger puppet

• Flannel board story

• Thematic storytime books

• Rhythm sticks (Toddler & Preschool only)

Kits are available for physical browsing at the Children’s Space of the Glendale Central Library. Kits can also be requested via our library catalog for pickup at any of our Glendale Library locations.

To request a Storytime to Go Kit:

1. Decide on the appropriate age level: Baby & Toddler or Toddler & Preschool.

2. Use one of the links below to access the catalog.

3. Click the Place Hold button, and enter your library card number and PIN when prompted.

4. Select among the listed themes, and choose your pickup site.

5. Await notification via your designated communication method that your requested kit is ready for pickup.

Note: Checkouts for these kits are limited to one kit per library card at a time for a loan period of 3 weeks.

Storytime to Go Kits can be returned to any Glendale Library location.

Once returned, each kit is checked by Glendale Central staff to ensure that all items are present. It may take several days for a returned kit to be removed from your account; you will not be charged any fees for this period.

There are no late fees for items returned to us, but for lost or damaged kits a $25.00 replacement fee and an $8.00 processing fee will be charged.
