Please join Glendale Library, Arts & Culture (GLAC) in celebrating the 63rd annual National Library Week! This year, National Library Week is April 4-10. National Library Week celebrates libraries, librarians, library staff, and the role that they play in the community. The theme of this year’s Library Week is “Welcome to Your Library.” The idea behind the theme is that the library extends beyond the physical building, as we have experienced in a new way during the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme is also a reminder that everyone is welcome at the library. If you do not have a library card, you can sign up here to get started accessing our collections.

Please join Glendale, Library, Arts & Culture as we celebrate National Library Week!

Some ways to celebrate include:

  •   Watching a special Library Week storytime on the library’s YouTube channel.

  • Placing items on hold for contactless pick up. We currently offer contactless pickup at three of our library locations: Central, Brand, and Montrose. More information on contactless pickup can be found here.

  • Signing up for our Wowbrary newsletter, where you can keep up to date on all of the library’s newest titles.

  • Checking out a new digital resource from our digital resources page here.

  • Signing up for one of our upcoming virtual events.

  • Checking out activities on the American Library Association’s website, including a National Library Week themed wordsearch and coloring page

If you have any questions please email libraryinfo@glendaleca.gov or call us at (818) 548-2021 Monday-Saturday from 8am-6pm.

The Library would also like to thank our amazing volunteers. Their dedication and contributions have made a difference in the community. Whether online or in the building, libraries are essential spaces to enrich people’s lives through learning, reflection, inspiration, and recreation, and volunteers are an essential part of that mission. Our libraries belong to the people of Glendale. The community guides our principles, and volunteers are the heart of our organization.

Happy National Library Week to all from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture!
