Introducing Vlume: eBooks and eAudio in Armenian

Finding online materials in Armenian and other international languages can often be a challenge. To help meet this need, Glendale Library, Arts & Culture (GLAC) has partnered with Vlume, the world’s largest Armenian digital library. Glendale cardholders now have FREE online access to content from 12 different publishers of Armenian language materials from 300 classical and modern authors. The eBooks are written for all ages and are available in both Eastern and Western orthographies, with audiobooks narration by both Eastern and Western Armenian speakers. The growing and varied collection currently includes over 800 titles and 1,000 hours of audio content, as well as a new collection of animation videos featuring voiceovers by famous actors.

Best of all, Vlume’s monthly subscription is waived for Glendale cardholders. All you need is your Glendale Library card number to use Vlume today. There is no limit on the number of titles that individuals can borrow, though the service is currently limited to 100 active users at a time. To get started right away, follow these easy steps:

  1. Download the Vlume app to your mobile device. Ignore the “Subscribe now” button.

  2. Tap “Skip” on the top right of your app screen.Tap the “Settings” Icon on the bottom right corner of the page. Scroll down to “Account” and tap “Institution Membership.

  3. Tap the purple “Link” icon, fill in your GLAC library card number, which is located on the back of your mailer or library card and tap “Continue.”

You now have immediate access to all items for free through Glendale Library, Arts & Culture for as long as you continuously use the app. If you stop using the app, you may have to wait a short time to gain access again. You can easily download popular eBooks, eAudiobooks, and videos for offline access and sync your progress across multiple devices. Get started here.
