Storytime with Ms. Vivian - Safe at Home

Butterfly storytime with Ms. Sherry

Book Talk with Ms. Meghan

Reading With Ms. Chris

Although the physical doors of our libraries are currently closed, our Children's librarians are still here for you, offering a wide array of online programming for kids and their families to enjoy while staying safe at home.

Are you and your little ones missing visiting the library for your weekly storytime routine? Never fear, your friendly neighborhood children’s librarians have you covered. Many of the familiar faces your child might remember from storytimes at the library are back to present biweekly storytime videos, featuring all your favorite stories, songs, fingerplays, rhymes, puppets, and more. Storytimes for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and families are available in English, Spanish, and Armenian. Be sure to keep checking back in, as a new one will be added each Tuesday and Saturday. Ms. Sherry and Ms. Vivian even brought their ukuleles home with them in order to serenade your family. There are also stand-alone stories on Read Aloud Fridays if your family needs a quick fix or  early literacy activities to incorporate into everyday activities with your child should you want to go a little deeper.

If you miss walking up to the children’s staff to ask for their recommendations about what to read next with your child, please check out the children’s video book talks. Each Thursday, you’ll find a children’s librarian (or maybe even a friendly, well-read dinosaur) there to let you know all about the books they think you might want to get your hands (or claws) on virtually. In addition, you can also find reading lists of recommended titles for various ages and interests.

Please know that the children’s librarians miss all of you too, and very much look forward to the day we can be together again, but until then please stay safe and visit the library online for storytimes, book talks, and so much more. To see the full schedule of online programming for children, please visit Glendale Library, Arts & Culture’s new digital resources website. The more we get together--even virtually--the happier we’ll be.
