One Book, One County is a community reading program bringing together 18 library districts in Los Angeles County! From June 1 - July 27, 2024, all participating libraries will be reading and discussing L.A. Weather by María Amparo Escandón.
Latinx with Plants Pot Painting & Repotting Workshop

Join us as we decorate clay pots and repot succulents in this workshop inspired by the One Book, One County pick: L.A. Weather by María Amparo Escandón L.A. Weather by María Amparo Escandón follows the lives of a family through a year in Los Angeles. The book touches on many themes including identity, family, marriage, Keila's work as a sculpture artist, and Oscar's increasing climate anxiety. Participants of all ages are welcome to join this program led by Latinx with Plants. This is a drop-in event - pots and succulents are available while supplies last.
