Spring into Reading with the New Book Club Title: The Queen’s Gambit!
Glendale Library, Arts & Culture is excited to announce the fifth book of the GLAC Online Book Club for Adults—The Queen’s Gambit by Walter Tevis. This thrilling novel, which was recently made into an award-winning Netflix miniseries, explores a young woman’s journey through the worlds of chess and drug addiction.

15,000 & More: A Plethora of Light & Darkness
“15,000 & MORE: A Plethora of Light & Darkness” is a temporary art installation of over 15,000 silver and gold ingot-shaped folded paper structures currently on display at the Glendale Central Library. Best viewed from the front windows of the Library at night, each ingot within the exhibit represents a life lost to COVID-19 in Los Angeles County.
Reckoning: Racism & Resistance in Glendale
Glendale Library, Arts & Culture is pleased to announce our Brand Library & Art Center and the ReflectSpace Gallery’s newest virtual exhibit, “Reckoning: Racism & Resistance in Glendale.” The exhibit explores Glendale’s racist history of anti-Blackness and the resistance to that racism through rarely accessed archival photos and documents from the Glendale Central Library’s archives.
Author Talk: The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein
As part of a program series honoring Black History Month, Glendale Library, Arts & Culture will present a conversation with author Richard Rothstein to discuss his book The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America. He will appear in conversation with Susan D. Anderson, History Curator and Program Manager at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles.

ReflectSpace Exhibition: Beyond the River
Glendale Library, Arts & Culture and our ReflectSpace Gallery, in cooperation with the City of Gimpo, South Korea, along with the Gimpo Cultural Foundation, is proud to present “Beyond the River: Free Zone-DMZ, The City that Lost the River.” This digital exhibition is available for online viewing from now until March 21, 2021.
